I will be taking prompts for the Fic Gueraerobics until 8pm EST. Bear in mind that not all prompts will be answered, as it was my original intention to complete one every month from March until December 31, 2005. There will, however, be at least one response for each listed fandom, and if I'm feeling spry a particular month, there may be two.
In other ditherings, Stephen King will be at FSU on February 26 as part of the Seven Days of Opening Nights arts festival the university holds each year. He is replacing another writer who had a family emergency. I'm certain that getting in to attend his lecture will be a pipe dream, but I think it's fabulous that he's willing to come to my lowly state university on short notice and speak to students. And who knows? Maybe I can stand outside the auditorium and listen.
Speaking of King, I got my hands on Cell last week. As with his other post-sudden-meeting-with-a-van-and-a-stupid-asshat books, it's largely a pastiche of earlier works like The Stand, and if the ending is what I think it is, The Dark Half and "Home Delivery", but it is still eminently readable and contains passages like this one:
