Christmas presents and holiday cards have been duly dispatched.
I fiddled about on Duolingo for a while. French and Portuguese are growing on me. As a bit of fun for the holidays, the site released units on Christmas expressions and flirting techniques for the various languages. Most of them were variants on English pickup lines, but now I'm picturing a pre-fame Till going into seedy discotheques with his hair shellacked and his shirt open to the navel and whipping out, "Zu dir oder zu mir?" Hee. At least that's not as cheesy as, "No tengo que leer tus terminos y condiciones para aceptarte." Really? Or "No estoy borracho, solo intoxicado por ti." Awesome. Do lines like that actually work on any reasoning human beings? If you're drunk and lonely, I guess.
