Grrrh. This new update interface is so cluttered, but I guess I'll have to get used it. I actually like the new typeface. I just hope it doesn't make posting fic more difficult.

I watched Richard's old Rammfire interview last night to listen to his voice and get a feel for his speech patterns in English. Everyone swears that he hardly sounds German anymore, but I hear the accent quite clearly, most notably on first-position "th" sounds, which emerge as "d". It's not as hard or as obvious as Mr. "not like a banana" Schneider, but it's clearly there, and if he really has moved back to Berlin, then I'm sure it will sharpen in no time.

Roomie and I went to our favorite restaurant tonight, and now, we're in for the evening. I'm going to watch television and gnaw on my hunk of leftover steak, and then I might write for a while or read. The Bone Garden has a strong whiff of Jack the Ripper in Boston about it, and I'm enjoying the modern mystery far more than the historical one. I empathize with Julia Hamill as the lonely ex-wife who feels discarded, worthless, and adrift, and I like the spunky, octogenarian amateur historian in the crumbling house by the sea.
