Harry doesn't know why he goes. He's been waiting for the greasy bastard to die since he was eleven years old, and he should just leave him to the ignominious death he earned when he sent Dumbledore off the Astronomy tower with his eyes empty and his arms outflung. But he crouches over Snape as he lies, crumpled and discarded, on the boathouse floor, and he feels like a carrion crow as he waits for the inevitable. It takes but a moment and far too long, and when the light fades from Snape's eyes, he finds no satisfaction in it.
