Taking a Chance

On a whim, I found a German epal with whom to chat. We exchanged our first emails today, and we'll see how it goes. He's from Luebeck and claims he wants to practice his English. Time will tell if he's legit or a skeevy perv looking to scam naked pictures and money out of me. Odds are that I'll bore him into silence within a few weeks anyway. My life is hardly a hotbed of excitement, and I'm not about to reveal my fannish activities. I haven't told him about the wheels under my ass, and I'm not sure I will. It hardly seems relevant to my ability to have opinions on movies and books and current events, and people are less likely to spook if they know me before they discover my disability.
