I am here. I'm still not sure about this endeavor, but the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. We're in a lush mountain valley, not far from Lake Chatuge. It's twenty degrees cooler here, and quieter, and quite simply, tranquil.
We had a blazing row this morning because of her teeth-gnashingly infuriating habit of changing plans on the fly. She told us that we could sleep until eight AM, and then called us at six AM just because she was awake. Rage. It's a minor fault in the grand scheme of things, but indicative of a larger pattern of behavior. I can't trust her with the smallest promise, and it makes me nervous, particularly when I am reliant on her for everything. So, we had a six AM shouting match, and predictably, my concerns were dismissed as hormonal histrionics. The status quo, she has been retained. I'm sure things will improve once I establish myself.
I am also sure that I'm going to be sued into the ground because she refused to turn in the apartment keys on the way out of town. She was ready to go, she said, and that was that. She promised to mail them to the complex office once we get settled, but odds are good that we'll forget and the university will assume I ran out on the promised inspection by Son of Himmler and stole their property to boot. Joy. Want to bet she's still surprised and righteously indignant when the papers arrive? God knows how much they were already planning to gouge me for in light of the Herculean cleaning job I left in my wake.
I'm not sure how frequent my postings will be, as I'm currently test-driving the high-speed at my mother's, but things are blessedly beginning to take shape in my new life.
