Roomie and I had a lovely time at the block party. I was wary of going because OMG, what if I had to shit and the nearest accessible bathroom is down the hill, but I decided it would be incredibly rude of me not to go after the neighbors had so kindly invited us. It turned out to be the right decision because the food was lovely and the people were even lovelier, and I met a lovely massage therapist who gave me some suggestions on how to help my stiffness. And there were dogs! Many, many dogs looking for pets. We came home with full bellies and in good spirits, and I'll have to remember to send the red-necked angel who organized the party a thank-you card.

The writing of Part XVI of Sprache will likely be finished tonight, but I'll still need to proofread it, tidy up a problematic section, and check it against previous chapters for consistency, so It won't be posted until Wednesday.

In less thrilling news, this thread in F-FA has the potential to explode into ugly wank. It's amazingly reasonable right now, with both sides listening to each other's point of view, but these discussions nearly always devolve into dick-measuring contests, with the caregiver faction screaming at the disabled faction that the latter doesn't understand how hard it is for them, OMG, you're just disabled; I have to take care of you, and the disabled faction howling that the latter is erasing them and co-opting their disability as a martyr card. Everyone involved ends up showing their ass and no one looks good and nothing is resolved. I'm in there, but if it goes beyond its current level of civility, I'm bowing out, because I don't want my good mood ruined by some knob trotting out the Ungrateful Cripples card of zero defense.
