Oh, Rammfen, only you could go from this post by Budman:
Looks like i'm stuck with tix to Izod, bought 4, my kid is going with a friend with 2, stubhub and craigslist no bites, anyone know where's a good place to sell?
Ebay is full of tix with no bid's, when you guys go there will be alot of empty seats, I'm thinking Rammstein is now dead in the U.S.
to this post from me:
I think it's premature to predict doom for Rammstein in the U.S. until after the first show or two. If the arenas are empty, then yes, the future for them in the U.S. would seem bleak, but damn is this fandom paranoid and schizophrenic. It screams that Rammstein should come to the U.S. and stop neglecting a loyal and viable fanbase, but the second the tour doesn't sell out in half an hour, they sigh and predict that Rammstein are going to fail spectacularly in the U.S.
to this relatively reasonable explanation from Kovaxs:
Everyone's just too scared that something will go wrong. I think it's a sign of how much we love them and how much we've been neglected. They haven't been here in so long that we're clinging on, screaming "DON'T LEAVE ME" like a desperate girlfriend.
to this wildly assumptive leap from the ever-histrionic sirkorn:
id be pissed if after 2 half full shows they cancel the tour
I realize that this is Sirkorn, who sees dire portents in the windspeed at the venue box office at the time of a ticket's printing, but aside from this fandom's frequent proclamations and occasional demonstrations of loyalty, it seems queerly determined to be disappointed, to see Rammstein fail so that they can piss and moan and cluck about how long-suffering and victimized by circumstance and "the mainstream" they've been. To put it bluntly, I think a large segment of the fandom enjoys playing the victim, and while they want Rammstein to succeed so that they can have greater access, they also want them to remain "their" band, their little secret and badge of coolness.
I don't have a clue how the tour is going to fare. Rammstein could wind up playing packed houses, or they could play half-empty arenas, but either way, it's ridiculously premature to be raising the specter of humiliating failure before the first note has sounded.
