The WB is stupid. If it weren't for the fact that it is already dying, I would wish a pox upon it. In its infinite wisdom, it has decided to move Supernatural, that splendid purveyor of Texas studliness in the form of Jensen Ackles, to Thursday. For those keeping score at home, Thursday is CSI night, which means that unless CSI degenerates into an hour of Conrad Ecklie dancing in naught but a tea towel, I will no longer be able to follow the exploits of the brothers Winchester. Damn them. Either the WB honchos are unspeakably dense, or they never had any intention of renewing the show and simply elected to shunt it to Thursday so that it would die decently and out of sight.
It's a shame, because the episode tonight was excellent, if a little hamfisted with the familial angst. I've seen subtler paralells drawn by preschoolers with motor difficulties. Ackles got down with his acting-fu bad self, to the point that I wanted to reach through the screen, seize Little Pasty Whining Sam by the collar and scream, "Sam, you stupid, stupid, narcissistic fuckwit, do you not hear what your brother is asking? If you're such a psychic, why don't you understand that he's begging not to be left alone, you dumb, shallow shit? Stop being such a self-absorbed tool and learn to listen with your ears rather than your asshat, which is clearly in dire need of a vigorous enema."
I hope I don't have to choose between the shows in the end. The WB generally airs replays on Sundays, but with the change to CW, I'm not sure that will be the case after March 16th. If not, I will have to pray that the WB releases the show on DVD eventually.
SWIC VI is cruising along at 4500 words and counting, and if all goes well, it will be posted this weekend. It would be sooner, but my take-home midterm is tomorrow, and thus, I will be engaged in the toils of academic industry. At least when I'm finished, I can reward my labors with a dose of brand new Flack.
Yeah, he's like crack.
