Today was the last day of class. Yeehaw! Only the final stands between me and eternal glory. Once that's over, I'm free, free to laze and gambol and fic. At least until January.

I've done all the pimping I can do for "Going Under". I've posted it on my LJ, at FF.Net, and on [livejournal.com profile] csi_ny_fic. It will either fly, or it won't, and all that's left for me to do is wish it well. Whatever the reaction, I enjoyed the bejesus out of writing it. Truth be told, I found it more difficult than writing in the Potterverse, which, with its magic and total disregard for physics, is much more elastic and amenable to accomodation. "Here in the real world, it ain't that easy at all," as Alan Jackson once crooned.

I can't shake the feeling that the story descended into mawkishness near the end, and for that I can only apologize and say that I was writing from the back of my heels. I am an only child, and therefore, the mysterious ways of sibling affection are lost to me. I did the best I could with what I did know and called the rest a leap of faith.

And on a final note, it is glaringly obvious that I'd just finished watching Supernatural when I started the fic, isn't it?
