The Dragoncon passes have been ordered. So far, so good. Now the fun can start, and I can spend the next four months guessing who's going to show up. As previously mentioned, Karl is off the table, and the pickings are slim at the moment, but they usually pull somebody big out of their asses come June or July.

I finished As the Crow Flies. They're pure macho cheese, but the Longmire novels are my happy comfort reads. The settings are desolate and lonesome, but the characters are cozy and familiar. You feel safe with them, and you want them to succeed. It does strain credulity how deeply the Natives accept crusty old white Walt Longmire into the heart of their culture, but if that's what twinkles Johnson's toes, so be it.

I wouldn't mind if Cady Longmire, boring prop for paternal angst, disappeared forever, and I hope we're not subjected to the travails of her pregnancy and fumbling steps into motherhood in future novels. If I wanted domestic drama, I'd read that.
