Waiting for the Great Pumpkin. And the Bogeyman, Of Course

Roomie is a happy bear because his Amazon goodies arrived this morning. He ordered Alice Cooper's Dragontown and the new Trans-Siberian Orchestra album. My goodies won't arrive until November, but Eddie and Uncle Stevie are worth the wait. I just hope I didn't make a mistake trying the Super Saver shipping. Is it as reliable as their standard shipping? Does it come with tracking? If not, I'm going to change the shipping and eat the negligible shipping charge.

Saturday is Halloween, my favorite holiday of the year, and because I live in an adult community, I'll be free to watch my gargantuan stash of Halloween movies without hordes of greedy, candy-coveting children ruining the tension with a fullisade of sticky-fingered knocks. I picked up two bags of Tootsie Rolls. two bags of Hershey's miniatures, four bags of marshmallow pumpkins, a bag of candy corn, and two movies--Shutter and Prom Night 2009. I know the movies are going to suck, especially the Prom Night remake(the original was actually a decent slasher flick), but cramming my face with candy and watching bad horror movies is my spot of cultural comfort food, the last revel before I'm besieged by the ever-expanding, amorphous horror of Christmas Creep.

Tonight, I'm going to watch Supernatural and The Mentalist and wheedle a cup of tea from Roomie. And maybe scarf some ice cream and red velvet cake.
