I Love Being Useful to Fandom

Today is a lazy day. Roomie is alternating between watching the FSU-Syracuse game and playing football on Xbox, and I am listening to Brad Paisley, reading the flist, RPing with [livejournal.com profile] loosheeus, and wandering out to cajole the roomie into cooking dinner. So far, not much luck on the latter.

[livejournal.com profile] kestrell has asked me some questions about disability and fanfic as it relates to the HPverse for her presentation at Witching Hour, and I am so flattered and not a little amused. She asked just as I was rattling merrily along on Chapter 53 of SLS, which I suspect most have left for dead. Moody was watching the fog roll in and contemplating how best to make Stanhope see that Severus was a lost cause when the message arrived. Her request has brightened my day considerably. At least my fic and ficcing experiences are helpful to some, even if most find it too long, torturous, and self-congratulatory.

Another reason for squeeing is that [livejournal.com profile] hexennacht is almost finished with my Pygmy Puff, Salazar, and assures me that he will arrive before my birthday. I am giddy with delight. Getting mail that doesn't contain pages of woe and fiscal sacrifice to the tune of several hundred dollars is a rarity in my wood.

Since my birthday is looming on the horizon, I thought to treat myself to a book and a video game, though I may postpone the latter and buy CSI: NY Season One instead. I have already decided upon the book(The Historian), but I'm divided on the video game? Should I get X-men 2: Rise of Apocalypse or Ultimate Spiderman? Spidey is fun for swinging through the breeze with the greatest of ease, and rampaging through the city as Venom would be joyous, but on the other hand, Magneto can lift tanker trucks...

Welcome, [livejournal.com profile] jellybean71, [livejournal.com profile] kestrell, and [livejournal.com profile] loosheeus, to the flist
