So, I got all nostalgic and wrote this HP drabble. Well, sort of. A perfect 100 words was too much to ask of my gabbling fingers.

Susan Bones. Bony Bones, she was called as a child, when she'd been all red hair and hard angles and bony knees and too-big teeth in her small, thin, unglamorous mouth. Now she is a mender of bones, setting and smoothing and weaving her healing spells like a seamstress set to her needle. They love her, the people who come to her with their broken bones. To them, she is a healer, a soother of hurts, and they are grateful when her wand rises and falls and silences the pain that screams beneath their skin.

But once, not so long ago, her wand had risen and fallen with a different purpose. Once, not so long ago, she'd been a breaker and render of bones.

Sometimes, she wishes she still was.
