I have decided to give Without a Trace one more episode. If there isn't a dramatic improvement by then, it will be time to say goodbye to that show. I started watching for the cases, and in the past two seasons, I've been barraged with ineffectual personal drama and storylines that defy credibility. And I refuse to be mired in the Elena/Danny/Drunken Ex drama that they so clearly want to explore.
Cold Case, however, gets major kudos for balancing drama with personal development. The case was predictable, and the artist-themed gimmick they've championed of late is irritating, but seeing the captain playing Grandpa to a four-year-old was priceless. It gave a brief glimpse into the personal without beating the viewer into numb insensibility.
A second pimp for Part VII of Danse Macabre.
