I wish I wasn't so mindful of keeping the fandom peace and didn't worry about getting my ass banned from TalkCSI. Yesterday, I made a post containing the following line:
Was Lindsay suddenly stricken with polio and unable to walk to the subway station?
Today, I received this reply. Bear in mind that it had fuck-all to do with the rest of her post:
btw, I left out a part of your post because I don't like it when people make fun of diseases and I didn't want it to be on here twice.
This was the response I left on the board:
Who the hell was making fun of a disease? It was sarcasm directed at the lame contrivance to get Lindsay and Danny to pair off in that scene. For the love of screaming sodding Pete...
My honest response? Fuck you and the PC Police, too. How about channeling all that righteous indignation on behalf of the disabled and diseased into something useful, like pressing for social reform so that they can have better access to health care and employment opportunities? Oh, that's right. It's much easier to sit behind your keyboard and charge heroically at paper injustices on the Internet.
I feel better now.
In less caustic, less histrionic news, I enjoyed Supernatural last night. One of the things Kripke and Singer get right is their remarkably humanized, flawed characters. While it was true that Sam was right to lie to Robert about the shapeshifter, it was also true that his lie caused Robert to take matters into his own hands and indirectly contributed to his death, and I respect the writers for refusing to shy away from that.
The more I watch, the more I'm convinced that Jo is the leak to the brothers' enemies. I think she's engaged in this campaign in a misguided attempt to avenge her father's death. I'm sure Ellen has no idea, and I suspect things will come to a terrible head by the season finale, with Jo revealing herself as the source and either causing the "death" of a brother or dying as atonement once she realizes what she's done.
And on an utterly shallow note, my ovaries exploded at the sight of Sam and Dean in full riot gear.
