I've started putting on Lindsay Monroe's skin, and I have the sneaking, sinking suspicion that she is going to prove more difficult than Stella, who I grew to like during S2. There has been no such softening towards Lindsay, who has struck me from the outset as a cloddish, socially inept narcissist. For the record, she lost me as a character when she was fishing for information about Danny while Stella was scraping bits of Aiden out of the car with a dental pick.

In other fandom news, I started watching X-Files S3 again this weekend, and the season was very uneven. I've got one disc left, and the best episodes have been "Piper Maru", "Apocrypha", and "Hell Money". The latter featured a very young B.D. Wong and that Asian guy they drag out of the mothballs whenever they need a baddie. I swear that they must keep him in backlot storage, because he's been around forever, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him in a ten-cent talkie from the twenties.

The worst episodes were "Teso Dos Bichos" and "Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space'". "Teso" was actually good until the dramatic showdown in the museum heating ducts, where Scully was attacked by the fakest cat I've ever seen, complete with dustmop fur and bulging, yellow, plastic eyes. It was so horrible even jerky camera tricks couldn't mask it, and it totally squashed the creepy, suspenseful vibe of the first forty minutes.

'Jose Chung's"...I don't...that must have been really great hash.
