Sighting the Next Distant Shore

While in Atlanta, I discovered Arby's' orange cream shake and fell in love with it. I wanted to pick up a few more at the Arby's near the casino, but come to find out, it's a seasonal item, offered spring through summer and is therefore no longer available. Booooo! Why do so many franchises do this? Sure, you might entice people through the door with the promise of such a delight, but they'll also be a bag of festering resentment when you inevitably yank it away. I could keep eating their curly fries and bourbon brisket sandwiches, but they're not worth going out of my way for, and so I will likely just go to Pizza hut or snarf some wings at the Nathan's instead.

I'm at loose ends now that my Karl Urban hunt has drawn to a permanent close. For five years, I've had a goal that has driven me to keep getting out of bed and climbing the endless hills and towering mountains life has set in front of me, and now I don't. All the energy I have so assiduously directed towards getting to Karl must now be funneled into something else, but what that might or ought to be, I don't yet know. While I wait for my next impossible dream to beckon, I suppose I'll read and get cozy and see if I can't manage to add a few new stories to my oeuvre.
