Renewed my library card today, and now I have another year of reading pleasure at my fingertips. They were supposed to extend it so that my then-current card got the full year of use, but the wizened, gravel-throated, addle-pated woman trying to do the renewal was having so much trouble doing that much that I counted myself lucky to get what I got. If I'd insisted on getting the full measure, I have no doubt that I would still be there, standing at the counter while the grand dowager of bookdom blinked molishly at the screen and retreated into the back to consult some moldering, dusty tome of arcane library knowledge on the long forgotten subject of how to renew an out-of-state library card.
I'm home now and counting down the days until my full-mouth debridement on Wednesday morning. I've posted the next chapter of the fic no one is reading, and when I finish this, I'll do my daily dose of Duolingo and curl up with one of the new books I picked up at the library to inaugurate my freshly-renewed card.
