I saw Bumblebee today. What a sweet love letter to the 80s. It's a crying shame that it only came out after Michael Bay fouled the waters with his last two loud, nonsensical bloatbusters because the bad taste those trainwrecks have left in the public's mouths has ensured it won't make a dime. It's not fair; this movie is everything good about the franchise, and Bumblebee is more human than far too many chest-thumping protagonists these days. It galls me that Michael Bay is still going to get money from this movie just because he has a producer's credit.
And John Cena, bless his square-jawed heart, has the line of the movie.
And the soundtrack is golden. I want it.
