Spent the day watching episodes of The Shield S1 and t00bing around the Internet, collecting pretty Karl Urban pictures. I should write, but who cares? According to prevailing fannish opinion of the times, if you start a WIP and don't finish, you're a douche who doesn't deserve readers. You know, because readers these days are so free with their feedback, the lazy, entitled fuckers. I actually saw someone claim that evening clicking the kudos button on AO3 was too much pressure for their social anxiety. Whatever. If you're that fragile, then how, pray tell, did you manage to leave that comment and a fill for a kinkmeme? You're a lazy assbag; admit it. I'm a lazy assbag, which is why I'm not going to bust my ass to fic today.
"I See Fire" by Ed Sheeran is a lovely song. The cover of "Jolene" by The White Stripes is not.
While poking around for cons that might be fun, I found Fanboy Expo in Knoxville. It looks fun. In addition to the Star Trek TNG guys, it features Pinhead, Leatherface(though not Gunnar Hansen), and Jason Vorhees(not Kane Hodder, dammit). It also has Craig Parker. Ngggh. It's cheap, too. The only drawback is how soon it is. I've never been to Knoxville, and I'll be damned if I'll share a room with two strangers. It could be fine, but it could also be a creepy nightmare like the one a friend had in NYC. If the guest lists are similar, maybe I could try for the Fanboy Expo in Tampa in September. Plus, I could consider going to Busch Gardens and a book shopping spree and make a holiday of it.
I also found Trektrax. I... I admire their enthusiasm and lack of give a fuck when it comes to celebrating their fannishness, but...do people really consider it an enthralling experience to meet the actors in Trek fan films?
The woman who plays 7 of 9 looks like she has sheeted tin hot-glued to her face. Bless them.
