I got bored last night after I finished hammering away on "Detail Man", and so I visited a few travel sites and disabled travel agencies to get a handle on how much money I would need to make my Berlin dreams a reality. And then I considered taking up drinking when I realized I'd need roughly $20,000 dollars to get Roomie and I to the land of bratwurst and good chocolate. Granted, the prices quoted were for an 11-day jaunt through several cities and included a PCA and a completely accessible van with driver, but it was still a shock. Disabled travel is so crushingly expensive, dammit. I'm sure I could shave a few thousand off by limiting my travel to one or two cities and opting out of the PCA and accessible van, but that would only reduce it so far. I'm still looking at a price tag of $12-15,000. Assuming the best-case scenario of saving $2400 a year, it would take me five to six years to accrue that much money, and by then, the prices will likely have risen. Guess it's time to start trawling sugar-daddy and creepy disability fetish sites.

Maybe Rammstein will have mounted a new tour by then, and if they have, buddy, I'll find a way to be there. Even if I have to bump off a rich, annoying relative. I can't think of a better experience to have as a Rammfan than to see them on their home soil.
