Vacating the Field

I should recap the latest edition of the Rosenrot Forum Follies, but in truth, I'm on day two of the energy-sapping Red Bloat, and arguing with idiots and nincompoops is exhausting. I might do it later tonight if my infusion of evening tea perks me up, but it's more likely that the thorough recounting will have to wait until tomorrow, when I'm trapped inside all day by the endless parades that choke the main street in honor of Veterans' Day. Suffice to say that Sehnsucht is a slavering imbecile of such incomprehensible magnitude that I long to bludgeon her with a logic-reinforced clue-by-four.

At this point in the fapfest, it has boiled down to "My right to be an ignorant asshole supersedes your right to be treated like a human being," and once things deteriorate to that extent, there is no point in further discourse. Once a person has decided that you are not worthy of the same courtesy and consideration to which they are, of course, entitled, there is no hope of progress because the playing field is inherently skewed in their favor. If you cannot convince them of your basic humanity, then you can convince them of nothing else. I knew it was over as soon as Sehnsucht trotted out the "You're just being oversensitive because you're disabled" pony and tried to tell me that the Romany people are often considered "disabled." English isn't her first language, so I assume she meant something along the lines of "inferior" or "undesirable," but that she would equate disabled with either of those negative descriptors tells me all I need to know about her mindset, the miserable little queef.

So sod them. I'm going to vacate the field on this matter and leave them to it. If they interpret my silence as a victory for smug idiocy, then they're welcome to it. I'm going to concentrate on the fact that a month from now, I'm going to be seeing Rammstein live. It will be loud, and it will be fun, and the adrenaline rush of seeing Richard and Christoph in the flesh will handily compensate for any fannish knobbery.

I bought my luggage today, a three-piece set from Walmart for twenty bucks. It's cheap, but as long as it makes it through NYC, I don't care. It's not as if I'm going globe-trotting with it.

Of course, if Rammstein launches a U.S. tour, it might see a great deal more use. A girl can hope.
