It's Day Two of the bathroom renovation, and predictably, it's behind schedule. Whoever constructed the previous bathroom clearly confused lead paint for a comestible. PC had to waste half a day replumbing the drain and several hours hacking at drywall that had been applied incorrectly to the studs. Then he spent several hours rebuilding the interior wall until it was sturdy enough to support the weight of the handrails. Because nothing is more exhilarating than getting up to wash your ass and face-planting on the shower floor with your ass in the air and a loose handrail in one clenched fist.
Still, it's getting done. As an added bonus, I bought a new refrigerator today to replace the ancient, energy-gobbling behemoth we have now. No more ominous rumbling noises and sudden thuds, as though glaciers were breaking away from the great Whirlpool ice floe. They're delivering it on Friday, so Roomie and I must make a concentrated effort to devour all the ice cream currently stowed in our freezer before then.
And as a bonus to the bonus, I'm probably getting a new computer tomorrow. Yeeee! No, I haven't dipped into my beloved Rammstein fund. I've simply decided that the money in the trust is mine, and I shouldn't make like a good Roman Catholic and be wracked with guilt just because I indulge in a luxurious gimp necessity.
I've already named it.
Has anyone ever tried pre-paid wireless Internet? I was thinking of using that for the second computer instead of buying a router and trying to network a second PC onto my broadband. That way, if the primary ISP conks out, I'll have the pre-paid as a contingency plan.
