A first pimp for Et Tu Part IX. It's bizarre, I grant you, but damn did I have fun writing it.

If I could, I'd leap right into Et Tu X, but I need to start my submission to spn_summergen. My SPN fics have a nasty habit of either exploding to leviathan proportions or stalling for days or weeks, and my recipient deserves my best effort. So tonight, or more likely tomorrow, I'm going to fire up the whetstone and get to it so that I have something to show for the deadline.

Fie on thee, History Channel. A program entitled Monsterquest should make some feeble attempt to feature actual monsters. I realize that you blew your wad in S1 with Bigfoot, werewolves, El Chupacabra, et al, but giant wild boars are not monsters, not unless they're fifty feet high and laying waste to Little Rock or pegging Godzilla in a truck stop restroom. Advertising monsters and delivering "Hogzilla" and a retinue of what one may charitably call dentally challenged backwoodsmen of considerable grit, fortitude, and body odor is a mean and shoddy trick. If I had known that the monster in question was going to be a fugitive from a pulled pork sandwich, I would've retired two hours sooner than I did and spared myself the excruciating tedium of watching Ghost Hunters.

As a final note on the state of television and broadcasting, let it be known that digital broadcasting sucks. Since my area began the transition late last year, my service has been awful. Different channels fade, roll, or cut out altogether, and even if the picture remains, the audio cuts out or fails to synchronize with the picture. Analog may be outmoded in the opinion of the tech heads, but at least it didn't fail every time the wind blew. Newer is not necessarily better, and if I miss the warnings when the bombs begin to fly because my cable company had "poor quality signal" issues, my angry, vengeful spirit will spend eternity seeking out those most in need of a good choke.
