Oh, LJ, you so stupid.
For those not bludgeoned about the head with LJ's latestrevenue opportunities features in multiple inboxes, LJ has announced a new content flagging system in
lj_biz. With this handy new system, not only can you, the owner of your LJ, decide the appropriateness of your posts for younger eyes, but so can the rest of the Internet. Your content can now be flagged as Adult Content, Adult Concepts, Illegal Activity, or Hate Speech by any passerby with an agenda and an ax to grind. Ain't that grand?
I will not be filtering my journal for any content. My fic, which is by far the most adult material I write, is already appropriately labeled. An extra cut tag or age verification box isn't going to stop the porn hounds anywaynor should it, by God. FWIW, my early sex education came from my grandmother's sex books and the more worldly kids at the Girls' Club teen room. A determined teen will find the answers they seek one way or another, so I'm not filtering my content with useless flags so lazy parents can feel better. Neither will I self-censor. Flack, et al will go right on lusting, angsting, sucking, fucking, pegging, rimming, and jerking off.
And I'll love every dirty minute of it.
