This is intended mostly for my mirror journals at GreatestJournal and InsaneJournal, but since a few folks have friended me of late, I might as well post it here, too.
Things About Me:
1. Though I religiously read my flist daily, I seldom comment. There are reasons for this. The first is that I am a lazy bastard, and since I type with the thumb of my left hand and the index finger of my right, I prefer to focus my energy on ficcing. Thus, unless a question is directed at me an an entry, I will not respond.
The second reason is that I am socially inept and tactless and will often say things that, while true, are not kind. People might like Luna Lovegood's honesty in fiction, but they get nettled when they encounter it in real life. Plus, observations such as, "This is the third time this year you've been fired; maybe it's you," are not appreciated. So, in the interest of harmony, I confine my opinions to my LJ. You are welcome to challenge them there, of course, but be advised that once challenged, I will respond. Bluntly.
2. Anything and everything gets put here-fic, fandom musings and meta, links, and RL natter. There are no special filters, and I will not create one for those who are interested in my fic, but don't want to know about the icky writer behind them. If you're in it for the word art, go to my FF.net account. Everything turns up there eventually, and you won't have to read about the time I pooped for distance in a mall bathroom, or the time I got in trouble at a Barnes and Noble for asking my Roomie to help me in the restroom.
3. If you're looking for politics and crip lit, you'll be disappointed. My politics are my business, and I refuse to be defined solely by the spokes under my ass. If you're looking for a martyr, try
bookgirlwa. I'm sure she's supply the prevailing image of the nobly suffering cripple. She hasn't made a happy post yet. If you want crip issues, read
maccaj. Daily life in cripdom, read
aleja for adventures in NYC. I'm just me, whoever that is.
3. If you're a dumbass who writes like a monkey shits, you will be defriended. Likewise for posting nothing but quizzes and memes. I don't give a shit about your toenail polish or your first memory of toilet training.
4. It is virtually impossible to be banned from this LJ. Disagreement with me will not get you banned, nor will your comment be nuked. Saying my fic blows will not get you banned. Calling me names the first time will not get you banned. The second time will. So will trolling and spamming. Anonymous comments are screened, but only to weed out porn ads.
5. If you comment on my fic and do not ask a question, I will acknowledge with a "Thank you," and nothing more. I don't get paid to be in the Writer's Corner, and just because you read my fic, that doesn't make us BFFs. You might call it rude or ungrateful. I call it knowing my limits.
6. My fics contain dark themes and questionable moral ethics. I will not apologize for them. If you've got a bug up your ass about "writing responsibly", please read this post and kiss my ass. Your children are not my responsibility or my problem. They're yours.
7. As
faylinn_drake can attest, I fixate. My current fannish obsessions are CSI:NY and Eddie Cahill. I tend to restrain myself in entries, but IMs are a minefield. IM at your own risk.
8. I write for CSI:NY, CSI, and Supernatural at the moment. As soon as Deathly Hallows is released and HP canon is closed and static, I will resume writing for it. Until then, all fannish contributions strictly involving HP-excluding crack crossovers-is tabled.
