A few days ago, [livejournal.com profile] sweetwestwind asked about the housing hunt. It's going. The realtor is showing me a townhome later this week, and I'm looking at condos as a possibility. There are a few decent (1200 sq. feet) ones in my price range. Of course, I'd love 2,000 square feet, but let's get real.

Anyone have any bona fide condo experiences with things like association fees or co-ops? Real experiences, not "Well, I heard..."

On the fandom front, life is torpid. I'm chugging along on my fic, and the LJ feedback is consistent for my work, but the Pit of Voles has been oddly reticent to either read or leave feedback, and I'm not sure if it's because of the subject matter or part and parcel of a general fandom downturn that I've noticed in the past six months. Of course, the gremlin in my brain insists it's because I've lost my touch and am now a talentless hack. I know my crack is very much a niche, but even my die-hards are quiet.

Are people just tired of the fandom politicking, glad-handing, and spooge-flinging? Has the novelty of Internet communication finally worn off? Hits and traffic are down everywhere, it seems, not just in my corner of the net. Roomie's RP group is sluggish, too, and we don't travel in the same fannish circles at all.

So, what gives, Internet?
