Trillian is of the Devil. Every time I use it, it crashes my computer with the Blue Screen of Death, causing my creaking Compaq to restart rather than shut down. I don't even know why I still use it. I'm no longer involved in
hogwarts_live, and all the friends I make-like
draejonsoul-get transferred to later, incompatible time slots. Either that, or I'm a terrible conversationalist and they don't have the heart to tell me so.
Poor Eric Szmanda. He tries to hobnob with fans and gets a beating for his pains. Celebrities just can't win. If they're aloof and reclusive, they're arrogant jerks who don't appreciate the fans responsible for their success. If they mingle or interact, they're arrogant jerks addicted to fawning praise. I've seen this with Carmine G. on the Talk CSI forums. Half the fans are throwing their virtual panties at him, and the other half are snidely referring to him as an insecure egomaniac who needs an admiration fix. It's rather sad. As for Eric Szmanda, I hope the incident doesn't sour him on fan interaction.
You know, I've been thinking, and yes, I have a vested interest in this: How would Flack handle a wheelchair-bound suspect/perp? Are there protocols for that sort of thing? I certainly don't expect he would let somebody get away or endanger others because they were disabled, but I can't see him bull-dogging them to the ground and standing on their head unless they were brandishing a gun? If he were chasing a guy in an electric wheelchair, would he try and knock the chair over, or would he just walk along behind them until the battery died and the chair crapped out in the middle of the sidewalk? And how do you cuff a spastic person? If the person turns out to be innocent, you don't want to have broken their arm.
