Prudence, a Seldom-Heeded Virtue

I replaced the surge protector on my writing computer today. The old one had developed a crack in the plastic around the plug, and rather than watch all my fic and other cherished possessions be incinerated in an electrical fire, I ponied up. If I had unlimited resources, I'd have splurged for the Erotosurge 990, the combination surge protector, vibrator, and cappucino machine, but I'm on shoestrings, so I bought the $10 Dynamix surge strip.

What else? At the urging of draejonsoul, I posted "The Ice Maiden" to csi_ny_fic. I was very nervous, as OFCs have never been en vogue in fandom. It's cheaper and more glamorous to contort a canon character to one's desired specifications, and less bloody. However, pinkamethyst left me a lovely review, and I am happy. I'm still leery of posting it at FF.Net, though. I don't think the sex is all that graphic, but all it takes it one tight-pantied mother walking in on one curious, wet-pantied preteen daughter, and my account would disappear faster than I could mount a campaign of righteous indignation.

I haven't felt like ficcing today, so I caught up on email and LJ comments. When the spark returns, Scotty Valens of Cold Case has asked for a word, so I will be working on tkirk's Fic Gueraerobics 2006 prompt, which was Scotty Valens, tissue, and after his personal tragedy.
