Beautiful Day

The weather was perfect earlier in the day; the sky was a brilliant, robin's-egg blue, and the trees changed as much as they're going to. It was a shame I marred it by going to class, but afterwards, Roomie rolled me to Ruby Tuesday's for lunch. Then, I came home and promptly crawled into bed.

I'm up now, though, and I'm hoping to finish "Going Under" tonight or tomorrow afternoon. I sent what I had to my beta last night, but she has yet to issue a verdict. Either it reeks, and she's too kind to say so, or she hasn't read it yet. I'm hoping it's the latter. Besides FF.net and Skyehawke, which are general fic sites, does anyone know any CSI or CSI: New York-specific fic sites or journals?

I received another query as to the status of Summon the Lambs to Slaughter last night, and lo, my guilt doth mount. I swear I never meant to leave it untended this long, but the other fandoms were so shiny and pristine, and frankly, I needed a respite. It was getting to the point-had long passed it, were I to be honest-that it had transformed from hobby to onus. It was an unpaid job that required 13 hours a day in front of this keyboard. I heeded to wean myself from it for a while, splash in other pools, go for walks, watch TV, read, sleep. It's been a blissful leave of absence.

But I'm pulling the hipwaders and the pickaxe out of the mothballs because it's time to get back to work.
