I'm feeling very blase today. I slept most of the day away and spent the early afternoon reading stories from the 100 Creepy Little Creature Stories, which I mentioned in an earlier post. Most of the selections have been drek, but there have been a few winners, like H.P. Lovecraft's "The Unnameable" and Hugh B. Cave's "Take Me, For Instance," a tale of comeuppance at its folksy finest.
I've decided that I'm going to contact the trustee of my father's estate and ask just how much is buried under the floorboards. I doubt there is much, if anything, after the protracted probate(7 years), but it can't hurt to ask. It may be that there is enough for a small downpayment. At the very least, it will give me an idea of the types of apartment I can afford once I pull up my university stakes. Now that my mother has so unceremoniously pulled her support, I'm going to have to hit the ground running and see how Slytherin or Gryffindor or Hufflepuff I really am.
I'm working on a CSI: NY one-shot, and I have a geography question for any New Yorkers. How far from Central Park is 23rd Street? Is it within walking distance, and is 23rd an affluent, middle-class, or poor area?
