I went shopping today. I hate shopping on the weekends because the crowds are always larger, and I am always trapped in the elevator with booger-mining toddlers who think my chair is a Tonka toy run amok. I don't mind if they touch the wheels or ask what it is-the only way they are going to learn is to ask-but I do mind when they attempt to climb it and or push me. I am not a toy, and if a child pushes me, I reserve the right to verbally rebuke them, for my own safety and theirs. In so doing, I am keeping myself whole and protecting inattentive parents from an unwanted court date. Smiling indulgently while the child climbs a piece of medical equipment worth more than a used car is idiocy. Keep the rugrats on the ground, please.
I went a little crazy at the Borders today. In addition to the CSI: NY book I wanted, I picked up Dracula and the paperback edition of Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. I had perused the latter when it was in hardcover, but was unwilling to pay thirty dollars for it. The nifty trade paperback was sixteen, so I snagged it.
I also bought Mario Superstar Baseball for Gamecube, and as soon as I finish this entry, I'm going to play ball. Whee!
I stumbled across a CSI RP last night called
murderers_hole. I thought about joining up, but my track record with RPs is not so hot, so maybe I'll just sit in the bleachers and watch. If I were to join, I'd want Ecklie or Brass. That way, I could be an obnoxious douche and be praised for it. If anyone else is interested, they're taking character sign-ups until the 17th.
The Nevillefic should be finished Monday night. I'm 2,000 words or so from the finish. It will, of course, be posted here upon completion.
Farewell,
snarkypants, from the flist.
Welcome,
