For the second day in a row, I find myself nestled in the bowels of the Sooper Sekrit Crip Cabal Headquarters Student Disability Resource Center computer lab. It is 12:40PM as I write this, and it looks like 9PM outside. Tornado watches and flood warnings are in effect until midnight. I expect a very rough time of it. Thankfully, I anticipated this, and all my electronics at home are unplugged.
The government stipend check arrived today, and so there will be no more subsisting on awful McDonald's fare. Actually, I wouldn't have had to until this point if the weather would cooperate, but it's hard to cook pork chops and corn when you're cowering in the shower and fully expecting to arrive in Oz forthwith. Or La-La Land if you skimped on the cab fare. The deposit also means I can pay the cable man and keep Grissom in Casa Guera for the foreseeable future. I was worried about that. If it weren't for CSI, NCIS, Cold Case, and Cold Case Files, I wouldn't have a TV. Well, and Iron Chef.
Not that I've been watching much tube of late with the inclement weather. I tried to watch Grissom last night in the library lounge, but it was filled with study groups, and I was too weenie to disturb them for my Grissom fix. An evil, repressed part of me says I should have done anyway, consideration be damned, but that imp is still locked in his cage. Being thoughtful is a pain in the ass, though.
The craptacular weather has put a cramp in a lot of my favorite activities, come to think of it-tea-drinking, Gobstopper-eating, ficcing, chatting RPing. I've been trying to finish SLS51 for three weeks, and every time I get a foothold on the direction I want to go, the weather precludes me from doing anything about it for five days, and by then, I've confused myself again. It's getting ridiculous. I don't even want to think of the papers that are coming due. I'll figure it out, I suppose. I always do.
