The cold is still clinging tenaciously to the lining of my nostrils despite a bombardment of Dayquil, hot tea, and orange juice With my luck, it will take its leave right before classes resume. Oh, joy.

I went with the roomie to see Robots this afternoon. I'm a sucker for animated movies. I've dutifully shelled out the cash for every Pixar flick and own the subsequent DVDs as well. I await the release of The Incredibles with glee, and Madagascar is on my to-see list. There's just something magical about the bright colors and the farcical whimsy of animation. I'm even sorry I missed Pooh's Heffalump Movie in theatrical release, but I just couldn't justify doling out twelve dollars for sixty-eight minutes.

Robots-No Spoilers )

One of the trailers that preceded the film was for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. I will probably see this film because I want to see the hatchet job Lucas performs on his own canon, but I would like to let it be known, here and forevermore, that I think Hayden Christiansen is a whiny, talentless stripling, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why Lucas thought he was good casting. He makes the angsting cutter!Sues of badfic seem like paragons of fine characterization, and I would empty my bank account to see him bludgeoned with his overblown and no doubt ponderous sense of worth as a thespian.

In fact, if I were struck down by a rampaging city bus and were granted a dying wish, it would be thus:

To see James Earl Jones storm the set and lay the wood to that sniveling emo punk wastrel in that lovely, rich bass.

"How dare you make Lord Vader, mightiest of the Sith, into a navel-gazing pansy, boy. Hear now my righteous wrath, and fear me, because my foot is going right up your scrawny-,"

My joy would know no bounds if he were dressed like Vader at the time.

O, Lord, hear my prayer.

After all, Mr. Jones read Your book once.
